Our Tree Planting Session

Tree planting at Rail Corridor South (23rd Nov 2024) 🌳

96 of us made light work of planting the 100 carefully-selected native species saplings, mulching and staking them nicely in just under an hour. Not deterred by the wet and muddy conditions. 👏 

It's always inspiring to work alongside motivated and determined volunteers. 🙇‍♀️

Here's a recap of the 12 native species that were planted:

🟢Elaeocarpus mastersii (Small-leaf Oil-fruit)

🟢Ficus heteropleura (Sandy-leafed Fig)

🟢Ficus microsyce

🟢Guioa pleuropteris (Kelentit Nyamuk)

🟢Knema corticosa (Small-leafed nutmeg)

🟢Mangifera pentandra (Pauh Damar)

🟢Maranthes corymbosa (Merbatu)

🟢Sterculia cordata (Kelumpang)

🟢Syzygium zeylanicum

Thank you, National Parks Board NParks, the team at the Conservation Division of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve managing our Rail Corridor Rachel Loh, Margarette Chang and Faith Wong. They identified, selected and sourced for the plants, prepared the site, arranged for the tools, and provided support with 2 of their workers Thiru and Vijay. 💪
